The long wait is just about over. Star Trek Las Vegas will kick off on Wednesday at the Rio Suites Hotel and immerse fans in everything Trek for a full five days. There are epic guests, three stages with panels running from morning to late afternoon, autograph and photo opportunities galore, exhibits, science talks, cosplay contests, concerts, parties and much, much more. You can check out the STLV 2019 schedule on the Creation Entertainment site for all the details. In the meantime, we at StarTrek.com thought we’d focus on the major Star Trek: Picard-centric activities, as well as the many new Trek products that will be available at licensee booths throughout the event.
Star Trek: Picard Panel
Watch the Star Trek: Picard Trailer
Fans around the world are excited about the upcoming Star Trek: Picard, and STLV attendees will be treated to a panel featuring Jonathan Frakes — who will return as Riker and is directing two episodes — and other members of the Picard cast. You don’t want to miss this, so be sure to… make it so on Saturday at 3:30pm in the Leonard Nimoy Theatre.
Jean-Luc Picard: The First Duty Exhibit
Massively popular at Comic-Con, Jean-Luc Picard: The First Duty is a special exhibition that celebrates Patrick Stewart’s return to his iconic Star Trek role by showcasing original props, costumes, and other artifacts tracing Picard’s life and Starfleet career. Items on display include his cherished Ressikan flute, the legendary Picard family album, his Starfleet uniforms, models of ships Picard captained and all that remains of the “Borg Queen.” The gallery — located in a room off the Star Trek Promenade — also features exclusive first looks at costumes and other items featured in the upcoming series.
Special Programming Tracks
STLV will offer unique educational and behind-the-scenes looks at Star Trek throughout the weekend. Keep an eye on the schedule for panels spread out throughout the event.
Teaching with Star Trek will feature academics from around the world exploring how Star Trek is used in the classroom.
Science of Star Trek will offer scientists and professors engaging fans in discussions about the science behind Trek.
Star Trek for Students is ideal for younger fans. Educators from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) will be on hand Saturday and Sunday to share their knowledge.
Inside Trek takes you behind the scenes with the Treksperts who are bringing Trek games, books and products to life. For example, there’s “Star Trek Authors, Their Books and Comics,” to be held on Thursday at 11:15am, and “Star Trek Gamers and Their Games,” set for Thursday at 1:15.
One Trek Mind Returns!
Jordan Hoffman will moderate a sure-to-be-fun (and lively!) debate, and it’s a goodie: What are the best relationships (platonic and non!) in the Trek universe? Every vote counts!
