Mark your calendars now: Destination Star Trek will return to Germany in 2020. The third German iteration of Europe's official Star Trek convention will take place from May 8-10 at the Messe Westfallenhallen in Dortmund. Fans can once again celebrate all things Trek, with a special emphasis on the 25th anniversary of Star Trek: Voyager, including an appearance by the event's first announced guest, Kate Mulgrew.
As always, Destination Star Trek will deliver a galaxy of activities, among them opportunities to meet actors from across the Trek franchise, collect autographs, pose for photos and enjoy live stage panels. Fans can also check out screen-used costumes and props in the Destination Star Trek Museum, purchase new and vintage Star Trek merchandise, attend Trek-themed parties and, of course, sit in a captain's chair. And, rest assured, much more is in the works, including toasting the anniversaries of other Trek enterprises.
“For over five decades, Star Trek has continued to take us to the Final Frontier," said event organizer, Mark Woollard. "With the new series now airing and in production, it’s an exciting time to be a Star Trek fan. Destination Star Trek Germany will continue to celebrate what has gone before and what is to come in the future, so we can boldly go where no one has gone before. We are very excited to be coming back to Germany, the true heart of Star Trek fandom on mainland Europe.”
