Destination Star Trek 3 continues to come into focus, with the DST3 team revealing to StarTrek.com the latest information about the event, which will be held October 3-5, 2014, at the Excel Centre in London. The festivities will kick off Friday, October 3 with an Opening Ceremony set to feature special host Jonathan Ross introducing the stars of the weekend. Ross, who is a British TV and radio star, film guru and self-confessed Trekkie, will bring the guests out one by one and chat with them as part of the standalone Opening Ceremony event.

Costume contests are now set to run throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday, October 4 and 5, on the DST3 Excelsior stage. As DST3 puts it: There’s no need to book; just show up and show off. Costumes will come into play in another major event, a Guinness World Record Attempt. More than 1,000 fans joined forces at Destination Star Trek London in 2012 to set a new Guinness World Record for the "Largest gathering of people dressed as Star Trek characters." DST3 hopes to break the record again, inviting fans to gather at the Enterprise Stage by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning to join their fellow Starfleet officers and multiple alien races.
