What are you doing tomorrow night at 10 p.m. ET/PT? If you're a William Shatner devotee, you'll surely want to check out the Star Trek legend's latest enterprise, The Shatner Project, a celebrity home renovation series for DIY Network. Set to run six episodes, The Shatner Project follows Shatner and his wife Elizabeth as they whip into shape a house that Shatner bought light years ago. It's a Mediterranean-style home in Studio City, California.
“I bought this house when I finished Star Trek," Shatner said in a statement. "I jogged by it every day and thought it was beautiful. One hundred years ago, the original home was a one-room hunting lodge. Over the decades, it was expanded into a family home and then I bought it in the 1970s.”
According to a DIY Network press release, episode one features the Shatners, with the help of a designer and construction crew, gutting the kitchen for a complete remodel. "After the removal of the old, creaky appliances and a 'hateful' ice machine, William and Elizabeth get in on the action by wielding sledgehammers to help demolish the old cabinets, countertops and tile backsplashes," the release reads. "The new kitchen—much to William’s disbelief—features multiple ovens and refrigerators.
