Mark the date: Tuesday, December 2. That’s the day that CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Media Distribution will release both Star Trek: The Next Generation – Season Seven and Star Trek: The Next Generation – All Good Things in restored, high-definition Blu-ray collections, each brimming with exclusive, in-depth special features including new documentaries, cast interviews, commentaries and more.
Season Seven will span six discs and include all 25 episodes of the final season and a trove of never-before-seen interviews with the show’s cast and crew, including the three-part documentary “The Sky’s The Limit: The Eclipse Of Star Trek: The Next Generation” and “In Conversation: Lensing Star Trek: The Next Generation.” Fans can also expect exclusive deleted scenes, an unreleased gag reel and new commentaries (featuring Rene Echeverria, Naren Shanker, and Mike and Denise Okuda). Total running time: a whopping 1,172 minutes.
Back in 1995, the two-part series finale “All Good Things…” won the Hugo Award for “Best Dramatic Presentation.” Now, that two-parter has been remastered into a seamless feature-length presentation complemented by the newly produced documentary “The Unknown Possibilities of Existence: Making ‘All Good Things…’” as well as by never-before-released deleted scenes and new commentaries by writers Ronald D. Moore and Brannon Braga.
