Still on the hunt for the perfect Trek-related holiday gift for a friend or loved one? If he or she is into comics, IDW Publishing has a trio of titles that will arrive in stores on Wednesday. Up first is a… last. Keep your eyes open for Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who: Assimilation2 #8. The final chapter in the blockbuster Star Trek/Doctor Who crossover adventure, #8 launches our heroes on a desperate mission behind enemy lines as they strive to thwart the CyberBorg threat. Complicating matters, there’s a traitor in their midst. Assimilation2 #8 is written by Scott and David Tipton, with art by J.K. Woodward and Gordon Purcell, and a cover by Woodward. The title will run 32 pages and cost $3.99. An Andrea Di Vito variant cover will be available as well.

Star Trek: The Next Generation: Hive #3 represents the third entry in a four-installment adventure that marks the return of Brannon Braga to the TNG universe. Braga penned Hive #3 with Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett, and the story finds the Borg Queen battling the Borg King... an ancient Locutus, with the fate of the galaxy hanging in the balance. Joe Corroney handled art and cover duties on Hive #3, which will run 32 pages and cost $3.99. Fans should also ask about a David Messina “Famous Borg in History” variant cover and a photo cover.

Lastly, there’s Star Trek 100 Page Winter Spectacular 2012, which collects popular stories by Marc Guggenheim, Scott Tipton and others, features art by David Messina, J.K. Woodward and more, and boasts a cover by Joe Corroney. Among the stories: Captain Harriman deals with his role in the loss of Captain Kirk aboard the Enterprise under his command; the inner workings of the Romulan military… revealed; and a plot by Mirror Universe Kirk to overthrow his superior officer, Captain Pike. Star Trek 100 Page Winter Spectacular 2012 will run 100 pages (of course) and cost $7.99.
