Creation Entertainment has just revealed that Karl Urban has been added to their already star-studded lineup for the Official Star Trek Convention set to be held Saturday and Sunday, June 21-22 at the John B. Hynes Convention Center in Boston.

"Last year, Boston-area fans turned out in record-breaking numbers to join in celebration of Star Trek and Gene Roddenberry's legacy at The Official Star Trek Convention," Creation co-CEO Gary Berman told StarTrek.com. "It really was an amazing, enthusiastic crowd, and we vowed to come back in 2014 with an even more awesome lineup of celebrities. So, we are happy to announce that Karl Urban, so exceptional as Dr. McCoy in the new movies, is making his first appearance in the area in Boston on Sunday. Karl was so hilarious, gracious and super-fan-friendly at his first Star Trek show for us in Vegas last time around that we knew we had to bring him to as many cities as his busy schedule would allow. As a long-time Trek fan himself, he really knows how to play to this audience, and all of us who knew De Kelley so well felt he brought De's loving essence to life while making the role his own.

"We worked with Karl for several years during The Official Xena Conventions and always enjoyed that," Berman added. "So it is great, and very rare, when we get the chance to team up again with a performer that ends up doing more than one popular genre role that a convention might be centered around. And, I should add, we're working on lining up other guests as well."
