It seems apparent that all the great/cool movie roles for the next year or two will be going to Benedict Cumberbatch. The British actor, who played Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness, is in final negotiations to star as the title character in Doctor Strange. Based on the Marvel comic books, the story will follow Dr. Stephen Strange, an ex-neurosurgeon who lost the use of his hands, dabbled in the mystic arts and now serves as the Sorcerer Supreme, protecting the Earth and its inhabitants from threats of all kinds: magical, mystical and interdimensional.

Cumberbatch will be seen next in The Imitation Game, which is generating all kinds of Oscar buzz, and then heard -- as Smaug and the Necromancer -- in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. The Imitation Game will open on November 21, followed by The Five Armies on December 17. And, believe it or not, Doctor Strange already has a release date: July 8, 2016.
