The Star Trek 50th Anniversary celebrations in Blackpool, England, are shaping up to be an unforgettable experience. In addition to the previously announced news that the proceedings will include Star Trek: The Exhibition and that the iconic TV and film series will be featured as part of the Blackpool Illuminations, it's been confirmed that Star Trek will also take over the Blackpool Opera House for a week-long film festival from July 24 to 30 which will culminate in a screening of Star Trek Beyond.

The Blackpool Opera House houses the largest screen in the north west, a 3,000-seat auditorium with state-of-the-art digital projection and sound. That makes it the ideal place to experience Star Trek Beyond and to revisit all of the Star Trek films as they should be seen, on the silver screen. A series of panel discussions and expert presentations will be announced in the near future.

Blackpool, the UK’s biggest family resort, will host Star Trek: The Exhibition on the famous Golden Mile, starting on June 30. The exhibition will take audiences on a journey through the 50-year history of Star Trek, with original props, costumes and scripts never before seen in Europe. The exhibition will come alive with an exciting new Augmented Reality app that allows visitors to appear transported. Then, beginning, September 2, Blackpool’s famed Illuminations will showcase a new light feature on the Golden Mile celebrating Star Trek, which will be seen from many miles into space.
