Beltran, Westmore to Re-Create Chakotay At Vegas Convention

Mark down the date: Saturday, August 8, 2015. That's when Creation Entertainment has scheduled Star Trek: Voyager: The Twentieth Anniversary Celebration Day during its Official Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas. On tap already, with more to come, is a panel featuring Kate Mulgrew, Jeri Ryan, Robert Beltran, Tim Russ, Robert Picardo, Roxann Dawson and Garrett Wang. Creation invites cosplayers to wear their finest Voyager costumes and participate in a planned giant photo op. The secondary theater at the convention's site, the Rio Suites Hotel, will host several educational and fun panels devoted to Voyager and its history.

And, here's the really big news. Oscar- and Emmy Award-winning makeup legend Michael Westmore will team on stage with Robert Beltran to re-create the character of Chakotay right before everyone's eyes. Westmore and Terry Farrell reunited last year to rec-create Dax, and it proved to be one of the highlights of the entire con. This year's pairing should be equally exciting and, topping it off, Beltran—as Chakotay—will be available for a limited number of photo ops on Saturday.
