Jumbuck Entertainment Ltd, leading mobile entertainment provider, has announced that it has been selected as a finalist for The Second Annual Wireless Gaming Awards, better known as The Mobies, for its "Star Trek – The Birds of Prey" mobile game competing in the Best Action Game category. Presented by GameSpot Mobile and Wireless Gaming Review, The Mobies are designed to showcase and reward the most innovative, well designed, and technically accomplished mobile games of 2004. The award will be announced next week, March 15, at CTIA WIRELESS 2005 in New Orleans.

The Mobies finalists were chosen from hundreds of submissions and judged on criteria including: gameplay, aesthetic value, and replay-ability. Gameplay covers a broad spectrum of characteristics that, in total, determine how fun the game is to play. Aesthetic value addresses the technical and artistic proficiency of the game's graphics and sound in comparison to its competition. A game with high replay-ability will be able to sustain the user's interest and participation over the course of time.

GameSpot received more than 100 submissions and will honor titles in ten categories including Best Action; Best Adventure; Best Board/Card; Best Platformer; Best Puzzle; Best Sports; Best Strategy; two awards for special achievement and the coveted title of Mobile Game of the Year.

"Star Trek – The Birds of Prey" is a vertical arcade-style shooter game where the user takes command of the U.S.S Enterprise. Flying in combat against familiar enemies from the original series – the Klingons and Romulans – users have to fight their way through oncoming ships, contend with wormholes, giant-planet based cannons, and avoid and manoeuvre through dangerous solar flares.
