Decipher is hitting the road, Las Vegas to be specific, when players and company representatives hit the strip from March 11-13, 2005 for the first officially named Decipher Vegas Open. This three-day event will feature a variety of different gaming events for Decipher's core trading card game properties, which includes the Star Trek CCG Second Edition.

"The Decipher Vegas Open is going to be a great event in the coolest city on Earth," said Trevor McGregor, Organized Play Coordinator for Decipher. "We're pulling out all the stops with a The Lord of the Rings TCG Black Rider pre-release tournament, a Star Trek CCG Second Edition Worlds Qualifier, Premier Series Events, Decipher Invitational Qualifiers, World Cup Qualifiers, and the grand event; a $10,000 cash booster draft tournament for WARS TCG."

The event will take place at the Hampton Inn Tropicana Hotel, which is located behind the famous Excalibur Hotel and Casino. Decipher has blocked off a number of rooms at a discounted rate for attendees of the Decipher Vegas Open. To book at the Hampton Inn Tropicana, you can call 1-800-426-7866.

Pre-registration is not necessary for these events but participants should have a Decipher player ID number that they can register for at here.

"On top of the events themselves, we're bringing a mountain of prizes," explained McGregor. "For our Star Trek CCG Second Edition players, we'll be blowing out the last remnants of our Necessary Evil expansion in the form of prize support. We'll also have stacks of uncut sheets from our core games and cases upon cases of booster pack product. We're going to throw a heck of a party!"

If players are having difficulty securing rides or lodging in Las Vegas, Decipher is opening up the on-site message boards for players to post threads offering car pools and room sharing. "We certainly expect to see players travel from the surrounding several states to attend the Decipher Vegas Open, but we're already seeing e-mails from players that are planning to come from the far corners of the United States," McGregor said.
