Denise Crosby and Mike Leahy go to even more extreme lengths, traveling around the world to Germany, France, England, Italy, Serbia, Brazil, Australia as well as the United States to discover what other
Star Trek fans are up to.
The special features on the DVD include:
- Commentary with filmmakers Roger Nygard, Denise Crosby and Mike Leahy, composer JJ Holiday and composer Billy Sullivan
- 20 deleted scenes
- Two short films by Trek fans Brian Dellis and Gabriel Koerner respectively
- Roger Nygard's previous works: "Six Days in Roswell” trailer and a clip from "Suckers.”
"Trekkies 2" takes the original idea of interviewing and profiling Star Trek fans and expands upon it to include fans from various other countries, including the Spock of Germany, an Englishman who transformed his flat into a starship and auctioned it on the internet for $2 million, and the first convention ever held in Serbia. The film also checks in on some of the original "Trekkies" profilees like wunderkind Gabriel Koerner and Whitewater juror Barbara Adams.
Rated PG, "Trekkies 2" will retail for around $20. The DVD is presented in its original full screen format and features Dolby Digital English 5.1 and English Dolby Surround. (Total running time is 93 minutes. DVD is closed-captioned for the hearing-impaired.)
