Get ready for the next chapter of Star Trek excitement with STARTREK.COM's Star Trek Book Club! On the last Tuesday of every month, gather online in our event chat room with special guests and other fans to discuss Star Trek titles. Our next event is taking place on Tuesday, May 25 at 3:00 p.m. PT/6:00 p.m. ET. It's the only official Star Trek Book Club on the Web and it's only at STARTREK.COM.
The Star Trek universe spans five television series, ten movies and an animated series, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Hundreds of Star Trek books have been published over the decades, both fiction and non-fiction, making Star Trek not just a film and television phenomenon but a publishing one as well.
The Star Trek Book Club will provide online chat events with authors, fans and Star Trek celebrities, plus in-depth information about a given month's featured book including how to purchase the book online.
The next Featured Book for The Star Trek Book Club will be "Star Trek: Enterprise - Daedalus's Children" by Dave Stern, the author of several Star Trek books, including "Star Trek: Transformations," the Enterprise novel "What Price Honor?" and the first book in the Daedalus saga, "Star Trek: Enterprise - Daedalus."
"Star Trek: Enterprise - Daedalus's Children" continues the story begun in "Daedalus." The first novel detailed the events of the terrible Daedalus accident years ago, and now "Daedalus's Children" finds Captain Jonathan Archer and the Enterprise NX-01 crew stranded in a parallel universe amidst a brutal civil war sparked technology stolen by a warlord from the original Daedalus. Taken from the ship, Archer and crew discover that this alternate universe is hazardous to their health in many ways, and the way home is filled with deadly obstacles, including the last Daedalus survivor.
The Club's next event will take place on Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. PT/6:00 p.m. ET, with an online chat with author Stern. Fans can log in and chat with the author about "Daedalus," "Daedalus's Children" and his other Star Trek novels. Fans can get ready for the event by purchasing copies of the "Daedalus" books, (also available in eBook form) and can also send advance questions to the guests now at bookclub@startrek.com.
