The latest issue (#5) of Titan's Star Trek Magazine confirms in writing that the upcoming J.J. Abrams-directed Star Trek movie will indeed feature Captain Kirk. Looking at the artwork from the teaser poster released last July at Comic-Con — and here on STARTREK.COM — this may not come as a surprise, but it's nice to have it straight from J.J.!

Abrams goes on to say: "The respect we all have for Star Trek canon — and for a brand-new audience — is massive. The script is done. We're now starting prep, and we can't wait to start shooting! Many more details to follow!"

Other items of note in the new issue include: everything you've always wanted to know about the green Orion slave girls; a Rick Berman interview where he discusses plans for a memoir covering his 20 years producing Star Trek; "Star Trek: Of Gods and Men" news; an interview with writer David Gerrold; and much more.
