Get ready for the next chapter of Star Trek excitement with STARTREK.COM's Star Trek Book Club! On the last Tuesday of every month, gather online in our event chat room with special guests and other fans to discuss Star Trek titles. Our next event is taking place on Tuesday, May 4, at 3:00 p.m. PT/6:00 p.m. ET. It's the only official Star Trek Book Club on the Web and it's only at STARTREK.COM.
The Star Trek universe spans five television series, ten movies and an animated series, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Hundreds of Star Trek books have been published over the decades, both fiction and non-fiction, making Star Trek not just a film and television phenomenon but a publishing one as well.
The Star Trek Book Club will provide online chat events with authors, fans and Star Trek celebrities, plus in-depth information about a given month's featured book including how to purchase the book online.
The next Featured Book for The Star Trek Book Club will be "Star Trek: A Time to Be Born" and "Star Trek: A Time to Die" by John Vornholt, the author of numerous Star Trek books, including "Star Trek: The Next Generation – War Drums," "Behind Enemy Lines – The Dominion War, Book One" and all three Genesis Wave books.
"Star Trek: A Time to Be Born" and "Star Trek: A Time to Die" are both TNG books that tell the story of the U.S.S. Enterprise-E and her crew prior to the events of "Star Trek Nemesis." In the wake of the Dominion War, the Rashanar Sector was the site of one of the war's most terrible battles, and now the Enterprise is tasked with patrolling this area as the grisly chore of retrieving the dead from the dangerous region commences. Amidst this setting, a startling series of events threaten Captain Jean-Luc Picard's Starfleet career and the ship itself, events which carry over into the second novel, which features the return of a long-absent friend...

Fans can log in and chat with the author about "A Time to Be Born," "A Time to Die" and his other Star Trek novels.
