How to participate:

Get ready for the next chapter of Star Trek excitement with STARTREK.COM's Star Trek Book Club! On the last Tuesday of every month, gather online in our event chat room with special guests and other fans to discuss Star Trek titles. Our next event is taking place on Wednesday, April 7 at 3:00 p.m. PDT/6:00 p.m. EDT. It's the only official Star Trek Book Club on the Web and it's only at STARTREK.COM.

The Star Trek universe spans five television series, ten movies and an animated series, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Hundreds of Star Trek books have been published over the decades, both fiction and non-fiction, making Star Trek not just a film and television phenomenon but a publishing one as well.

The Star Trek Book Club will provide online chat events with authors, fans and Star Trek celebrities, plus in-depth information about a given month's featured book including how to purchase the book online.

The next Featured Book for The Star Trek Book Club will be "Star Trek: Enterprise – Daedalus," by Dave Stern, the author of several Star Trek books, including "Star Trek: Transformations," the Enterprise novel "What Price Honor?" and the upcoming second part of the Daedalus saga, "Daedalus's Children."

"Star Trek: Enterprise – Daedalus" tells the story of an early experience in the life of Enterprise Chief Engineer Charles "Trip" Tucker. In 2140, a decade before the launch of Enterprise, Starfleet plans to launch the Daedalus, the first Warp Five vessel powered by a new engine system. A young Tucker finds a flaw in this new system, but its creator, Victor Brodesser, convinces the young engineer otherwise, and the result is a catastrophe with tragic results. Years later aboard Enterprise, a new series of events leads Trip to confront the terrible memories, all while new dangers threaten his ship and fellow crew.

The Club's next event will take place on Wednesday, Aprill 7, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. PT/6:00 p.m. ET, with an online chat with author Stern and Star Trek book Editor Margaret Clark. Fans can log in and chat with the author about "Daedalus" and his other Star Trek novels. Fans can get ready for the event by purchasing a copy of "Star Trek: Enterprise – Daedalus," (also available in eBook form) and can also send advance questions to the guests now at bookclub@startrek.com.

So get ready to engage a realm of Star Trek excitement where there are no commercials and the special effects are limited only by your imagination. Join us as the Star Trek Book Club explores strange new stories in the Star Trek universe, seeks out fellow Star Trek book fans and boldly goes into the limitless frontier of the printed page!
