As publishing moves into the 21st Century, Simon & Schuster is leading the way in online
Star Trek eBooks, offering a new eBook for download free of charge.
"The Magic of Tribbles," by Terry J. Erdmann ("The Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Companion," with Paula M. Block) and Gary Hutzel tells the story of the historic Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode which returned Star Trek fans to the Original Series days. The landmark episode "Trials and Tibble-ations," produced in 1996, celebrated Star Trek's 30th anniversary and combined original footage with new scenes, which were then blended seamlessly through digital wizardry.
"The Magic of Tribbles" joins an increasingly hefty list of Star Trek titles available only for download. Simon & Schuster kicked off the Star Trek eBooks last summer with the S.C.E. (Starfleet Corps of Engineers) series opener "The Belly of the Beast" by Dean Wesley Smith and has continued with more S.C.E. eBooks by Keith R.A. DeCandido, Christie Golden, Dayton Ward and Kevin Dilmore, and Aaron Rosenberg.
Other eBooks available online for downloading from Simon & Schuster include "The Klingon Hamlet" by Lawrence Schoen, the short fiction collection "Strange New Worlds II" and close to ten other eBooks, with the list growing all the time.
