Polar Lights, licensee for
Star Trek model kits, has several products on the market right now that fans may want to check out.
The Enterprise NX-01 is a very impressive model; the finished product measures 14" wide and 24" long and has over 200 parts. Like all good models, the beauty is in the details and this one is certainly very accurate and authentic. The surface exterior is reproduced to the specifications of the ship and the kit also features extensive and intricate clear parts for all the windows, most of the exterior lights, and even engine parts that are usually lit in the TV series.
Polar Lights also has available the Klingon D7 battle cruiser in a Snap Kit 1:1000th version. This Snap Kit replicates the Klingon D7 Battle Cruiser from the original Star Trek television series. The D7 is almost predatory in its appearance, with a spread-wing main hull, long neck and head-like command pod.
The Scorpion Fighter from the movie "Star Trek Nemesis" is also available. This kit is a 1:24 scale Skill Level 2 Snap Kit that also includes figures.
From the Original Series, Polar Lights also has a U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 kit. This Skill Level 1 kit is in 1:1000th scale, and is approximately 11" long.
For Star Trek movie fans, the model makers have also released the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-A.
The kit contains parts and decals for the NCC-1701 re-fit Enterprise seen in "Star Trek: The Motion Picture," the first movie in the series of theatrical releases; "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" and "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock." The kit also contains the parts for the NCC-1701-A as seen in "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home," "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier" and "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country."
