Commander of a NASA ship, the Charybdis, used in the third manned attempt to venture beyond the Sol system. Although Richey's crew was accidentally killed by an alien race, he survived and was placed in an artificial environment derived from a trash novel called "Hotel Royale." In 2365, the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise discovered a long-deceased Richey on an unnamed planet.
