UPDATE 11.05.07: Jimmy Kimmel announced on a radio program this morning that his show would begin airing reruns tonight, due to the strike action by the Writers Guild of America, and the show's website has been updated to confirm this. A spokesperson for the show told us that William Shatner will be rescheduled as soon as the strike is resolved.
Original story 11.02.07:
We know Jimmy Kimmel is a big Star Trek fan, so he must be relishing the opportunity to talk to two of the biggest stars in the Trekiverse — one who is in the upcoming J.J. Abrams movie and one (at least at this moment) who is not.
Tonight (Friday night/Saturday morning), one of the guests on Jimmy Kimmel Live on ABC will be Zachary Quinto, who will star as the young "Spock" in the 2008 "Star Trek" movie.
And then Monday night (Tuesday morning), William Shatner is scheduled. With all the talk in the blogosphere — mainly from his own video website, ShatnerVision — about Shatner being "disappointed" over not being included in the new movie, it should be interesting to hear what he's willing to say on national television about it.
There's a huge caveat, however: Word came down today that the Writers Guild will go on strike starting Monday. The first casualty of that strike will be the daily talk shows, so it's entirely possible we'll be seeing a rerun of Kimmel Monday night instead of the Shatner appearance. We'll update this story if we learn anything new.
Jimmy Kimmel Live airs just after midnight in the Eastern and Pacific timezones, so if you're scheduling your DVR or VCR, be sure to set it for 12:05 a.m. the next morning. Central Timezoners, it's at 11:05 p.m.; Mountain Time dwellers, check your local listings.
If you see this notice too late to catch Zachary or Bill, check the links below for any video that may be posted of their interviews.
