Jack B. Sowards wrote episodes of "Bonanza", "High Chaparral" and "Barnaby Jones" before getting the assignment to co-write the story for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan with Harve Bennett.

He subsequently wrote the "Where Silence Has Lease" episode of ST:TNG.
