A devoted fan of the Original Series, J. Paul Boehmer is one of a handful of actors who have played multiple memorable characters within the
Star Trek Universe. Most notably he played the unique
Borg drone
One in the
Star Trek: Voyager episode "
Drone," and the stranded
Vulcan Mestral in the
Enterprise episode "
Carbon Creek."
Most recently, Paul can be seen in "Storm Front" reprising his role as an SS Officer. It was Boehmer who led the mysterious, red-eyed alien in the Nazi uniform to the cot of an injured Captain Archer in the shocking final minutes of the Enterprise Season 3 finale "Zero Hour."
Boehmer's first role on Star Trek was similar to his latest. In 1995 he got his very first television job playing the Holographic Nazi "Kapitan" in "The Killing Game, Parts I and II." Boehmer also played Vornar in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Tacking Into the Wind" and appears in the video games "Star Trek: Klingon Academy" and "Star Trek: Bridge Commander."
In this interview, which was recorded a week before "Storm Front" started shooting, Boehmer talks about the many roles he has played on Star Trek, his favorite Starship captain and why he didn't have to do any special research to play Mestral.
