It's award season once more and
Star Trek alumni are well represented this year in the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards
nominations for television and film.
Leading the way is Virginia Madsen (from Star Trek: Voyager's "Unforgettable"), nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in the critical favorite "Sideways."
Next is Teri Hatcher (Lt. Robinson in Star Trek: The Next Generation's "The Outrageous Okona") who is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for "Desperate Housewives."
James Cromwell, known to some as Zefram Cochrane from "Star Trek: First Contact," is included in the nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series as part of the cast of HBO's "Six Feet Under."
Steven R. Schirripa, who played Carmine in the Star Trek: Enterprise episodes "Storm Front, Parts I & II" is also part of the ensemble award nomination for "The Sopranos."
Steven Culp, who played the tough Major Hayes in Enterprise, is featured as part of the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series nomination for the ABC hit "Desperate Housewives."
Kim Cattrall, Valeris from "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country," is also part of the comedy ensemble nomination for "Sex and the City."
One of the most heavily nominated films, "The Aviator," was written by John Logan of "Star Trek Nemesis" fame. Logan, currently holding a hot hand in Hollywood, also penned the epics "Gladiator" and "The Last Samurai."
