A Fond Farewell to Four Fine Fellows...

It is with great sadness that STARTREK.COM announces the departure of several valued members of our creative and production team.

Rob Palacios
The profoundly talented "BobbyP" was instrumental in designing, developing and maintaining the visual style of the site. Rob's talents aren't just his ability to create great work on his own, but to also be able to turn your vague idea of what you think would look cool, into something that truly is cool. His artistry has inspired us to create articles worthy of the beautiful graphics he crafted to accompany them. During his tenure here he contributed to the design of the StarTrek.net service and the complete redesign of the STARTREK.COM site. All the stunning designs of our STARTREK.COM Gear merchandise and the avatars and smileys on the message boards are Rob's work. As Rob leaves us to walk the Earth (like Kane from Kung Fu ... or Godzilla ... ) look for his amazing creative energy to enhance finer sites around the Web.

Paul Plunkett
Perhaps best known as the creative wit behind our columnists K'Plett and Pelgar, Paul exhibited his exemplary writing skills in many areas across the site. He wrote Documentaries and "Best of" lists, April Fools stories, kept us informed about new Star Trek books and games, covered conventions near and far, and scoured print and on-line sources daily for news about Star Trek alumni. His story "The Legend of Gorath" became the site's first foray into original storytelling. Paul's writing (and producing and acting) talents will continue to grace the stage at the Sacred Fools Theater in Hollywood.

Sandy Stone
Going beyond encyclopedic levels, Sandy's knowledge of all things Star Trek is truly astounding. In his five years on the team, Sandy's major contributions include several outstanding Feature articles (his Documentary "The Borg" is the definitive word on the subject) and the informative and entertaining Production Reports. He also managed the News and Science Roundups, and wrote countless news articles and editorial pieces. His enthusiasm was evident in his coverage of numerous special events (award shows, ceremonies, conventions, etc.) including shooting photos and writing the stories. Sandy will continue to pursue independent screenwriting. Look for his name in the credits of a movie or television show very soon!

John Sylvain
As the producer of many great Feature articles, John facilitated the creation of fascinating Documentaries and Specials, conducted First Person interviews, and developed many interesting behind-the-scenes articles. He originally joined us to create content for the StarTrek.net service, and went on to produce a volume of compelling entertainment for Star Trek fans. The wealth of material he developed will continue to serve us into the future. John's production skills will continue to be evident in his role as co-founder and executive producer of Instant Films.

We sincerely thank these fine gentlemen for their contributions to the site, and will cherish the memories of all the great times we had working together. To all of them we send a heartfelt "Live long and prosper!"

You may send your good wishes to editor@startrek.com or post on the site message board.
