It's time to get wet again! You can join Rod and his crew for the "Roddenberry Dive Club's 2nd Mission," a quick trip out to Catalina Island on October 13 on the dive boat
Island Time.
Located just 22 miles off the California coast, Catalina has a virtual year-round Mediterranean climate making it ideal for diving, among other things. Kelp forests thrive due to the protected status of many of the areas surrounding the island. There is an abundance of marine life in the numerous natural and artificial reefs. Catalina's calm, clear waters allow for comfortable diving for all experience levels as well as plenty of great snorkeling spots. In fact, Rodale's Scuba Diver magazine ranked Catalina Island the #1 dive spot in North America!
The Island Time is conveniently located in the Alamitos Bay in Long Beach. This boat is specifically built for diving and, due to it's speed, does not have bunks below deck — not that you'll miss them as it's typically only 75 minutes to Catalina!
Tickets for the dive excursion are $120.00. Boarding will commence at 6:30 a.m. and depart promptly at 7:00 a.m. Lunch will be included, plus three air tanks are provided to divers. These will be ready to go when you board so there shouldn't be any waiting between dives — just the time it takes to move the boat to a new spot, if desired.

Happy diving!
