If you're a fan of
William Shatner (and who isn't?!) you'll definitely want to see "The Shatner Show" — an exhibition of artwork inspired by the great man himself.
Currently at the UPPERCASE gallery in Calgary, Alberta, the show features works by more than 70 different artists from the U.S. and Canada. From the iconic image by Marc Burckhardt, to the playful LEGO bust by Sean Kenney, to the bold and irreverent "Gornin'" by Douglas Fraser, the art portrays Shatner as himself, Captain Kirk and T.J. Hooker, and it even references "Kingdom of the Spiders."
The show completes its run on August 31, 2007, so make plans now to visit Calgary for this singular event. A portion of the proceeds from the exhibition benefits The Hollywood Charity Horse Show, a charity founded by Shatner.
If you can't make the trip, you can enjoy the artwork in the 128-page hardcover book from the exhibition. See the photo gallery (at left) for just a few examples. The book is available for purchase from UPPERCASE at the link below.
