In his first convention appearance since becoming
Enterprise captain,
Scott Bakula ("
Captain Jonathan Archer") has signed on as a guest at
Creation Entertainment's 5th Annual Official
Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas, one month from now.
Bakula will take the stage on Sunday, August 20, at the Las Vegas Hilton. He will also sign autographs and do photo ops with fans (separate tickets required). The specific schedule will be posted on the Creation site closer to the event, and we will bring you a complete preview then. Autographs and photo ops with Bakula, as with all the celebrities, are limited and Creation anticipates a sell-out situation. So order online quickly (see link below).
The Star Trek: Enterprise star joins William Shatner, Avery Brooks and Kate Mulgrew to become the fourth of five captains to grace the 40th anniversary celebration. (Patrick Stewart, a frequent Creation guest, is — unfortunately for us — tied up in England performing for the Royal Shakespeare Company.)
Bakula's name adds that much more heft to an already remarkable roster of stars at the Vegas con, which includes his NX-01 crewmates Jolene Blalock, Connor Trinneer and Dominic Keating, as well as his executive producer Brannon Braga.
Leonard Nimoy, Jonathan Frakes, George Takei, Brent Spiner, Nichelle Nichols, Walter Koenig, Diana Muldaur, Robert Foxworth, Andrea Martin, Mariette Hartley, William Campbell, Carel Struycken and Robert Justman are just a few of the plethora of other dignitaries filling the jam-packed four-day schedule, Aug. 17-20.
Despite the fact that there is no Star Trek show currently on the air, this convention — which is exclusively Trek — is selling tickets at a faster pace than ever before. Some of the higher-end packages are already sold out, but there are still weekend passes and general admission daily tickets available.
