Since March 17,
Scott Bakula has been on stage at the historic Ford's Theatre in Washington, DC, starring in the Civil War musical "Shenandoah," and earning many rave reviews for his performance. He will be speaking about that experience in two upcoming venues.
Maryland Public Television (MPT) will air an interview with Bakula on the show ArtWorks This Week tonight (Wednesday) at 7:30 pm EDT, and repeat it Saturday, April 8, at 9:00 am. MPT runs on various digital, cable and over-the-air channels throughout Maryland.
"It's interesting to note what he says about how it feels to be an actor, acting in this Civil War based play, in Ford's Theatre, under the very box where President Lincoln sat – one night when he went to the theatre," states the MPT Web site — click here for more info.
In addition, the Enterprise and Quantum Leap star will address a National Press Club luncheon in DC, on April 19th at 12:30 pm. Bakula will speak about "Shenandoah" and its relevance to the debate over the Iraq war.

In "Shenandoah" — based on the Jimmy Stewart movie — Bakula plays Charlie Anderson, a successful farmer in the Shenandoah Valley who has managed to keep his daughter and six sons out of the Civil War by refusing to get involved in the South's struggle. As the war comes to an end, however, it becomes harder for the Anderson family to remain isolated from the violence that surrounds them. It is when his youngest son, mistaken for a rebel soldier, is taken prisoner by Yankees that Anderson must finally confront the war he fought so hard to avoid.
The play runs through April 30. See www.fordstheatre.org for further information.
