While we compile our coverage of last weekend's Grand Slam convention in Pasadena (
related story), we thought we'd alert you right away to something you might find of interest: On the first day of the convention, Friday, a crew from the late-night talk show
Jimmy Kimmel Live! was present, and Jimmy Kimmel himself was there interviewing fans in costume and celebrities in the autograph room, and generally having a look around. He also made sure he was selected to take part in the Trivia Competition hosted by
Creation Entertainment's Adam Malin (we'll talk more about that in one of our upcoming convention reports).
So obviously Kimmel's show is planning to cut together the footage shot on Friday for a special segment. The crew people were not able to tell us which night the segment will be shown, but indicated it would be within the next week. So you may want to set your DVR or VCR to record the show each night this week (or do it the old-fashioned way — watch).
Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on ABC after Nightline in most markets. That's 12:05 a.m. Eastern and Pacific, 11:05 p.m. Central, but please consult your local listings.
We will be posting our reports from the three-day convention throughout the coming week. It will include quotes from Avery Brooks, Jonathan Frakes, Robert Picardo, Garrett Wang, Majel Barrett Roddenberry, Alice Krige, Jeffrey Combs, Gary Graham, Tim Russ, Wil Wheaton, and several others.
