Trek Bowl XL: How Would You Celebrate?

Star Trek is both XL and Extra Large as we enter 2006, a year that represents an enormous milestone: Star Trek officially enters middle age on the 8th of September when it celebrates its 40th birthday. And if size matters, then Star Trek still reigns supreme when it comes to output sprung from an original show: four more TV shows, ten movies, an animated series and an extensive novel line.

When someone or some "thing" reaches 40 years of being in existence, it calls for the ultimate celebration. And with that in mind, we thought it would be a great idea to find out how you would celebrate Star Trek's 40th anniversary. What would you like to see or do, participate in, buy, talk to, etc.? Aside from things like "hanging out and partying with the actors" or "throwing my own cool Trek party," how would you celebrate Star Trek if money, time or practicality weren't an issue?

How far would you go to see and participate in a Star Trek event? What would you like to see there, that is in any way Star Trek related? Demonstrations with a bat'leth? Technical seminars on light speed and warp mechanics? Behind-the-scenes looks at special effects or simply hanging out on a starship? The only rule is, don't let reality hold you back. (And while we know that unlimited lap dances from Orion Slave girls would top our list too, let some discretion prevail. Sorry folks.)

We know Star Trek: The Experience in Las Vegas is, like the name says, an amazing "experience" and several conventions are scheduled around the country to honor the anniversary, but let's think outside the galaxy on this and give us your amazing ideas of what you would like to see, do and/or participate in if it were at all possible. Or impossible even!
