Hamilton Camp Remembered

Versatile musician, comedian and actor Hamilton Camp has died following a fall at his home in Hancock Park, Los Angeles. He was 70.

Born in London in 1934, Camp started out as a folk musician and later turned to acting. He will be remembered by Star Trek fans for two roles; on Voyager he appeared as Controller Vrelk in "Extreme Risk," and Lek in the Deep Space Nine episodes "Ferengi Love Songs" and "The Magnificent Ferengi."

Besides his notoriety as a singer in the folk duo Gibson and Camp, he played several roles on popular TV shows over the years, including appearances on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, WKRP in Cincinnati, M*A*S*H and the recent hit Desperate Housewives. The voice of Camp can also be heard in numerous animated shows, including the hit series The Smurfs.

Camp is survived by four sons, two daughters and 13 grandchildren. Plans for his memorial service will be posted on his website, www.hamiltoncamp.com.
