Anthony Montgomery isn't letting his summer hiatus go to waste. The actor behind Enterprise's Travis Mayweather is set to star in "Dutchman," LeRoi Jones' play about race relations. The play will be presented by Napton, Inc. at the Elephant Theater in Hollywood. The play opens June 5 and runs through June 28.

This production of "Dutchman" is directed by Sedric and stars Montgomery and Deborah Dir. The play tells the story of two characters who meet on a subway train on a summer night. Twenty-year-old African-American poet Clay (Montgomery) is on his way to a friend's party when he notices Lula (Dir), an attractive white woman, on the subway platform. Lula is intrigued by Clay, and boards the train and introduces herself. The show documents the train ride as Lula and Clay "seduce and repel each other until Lula drives Clay to his feet and his destiny," according to a press release.

"It's going to make the audience very uncomfortable," Montgomery said of in a recent chat with STARTREK.COM (click here for the full transcript). "You'll hear things come out Anthony's mouth as Clay which you would never hear come out of Travis' mouth."

The play, which was the winner of the 1964 Village Voice Obie Award, runs Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. There will be no performance on Thursday, June 26, but there is an additional performance on Sunday, June 22 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10. For reservations, please call 323-962-5613.
