Since stepping down from the Captain's chair,
Star Trek: Voyager's
Kate Mulgrew (
Captain Kathryn Janeway) hasn't slowed down a bit, spending most of the two years since Voyager's finale onstage in the one-woman show "Tea at Five." Her performance has just landed her an Audience Award from Broadway.com. The Fourth Annual Broadway.com Audience Awards were voted on by theatre fans from across the globe (over 140,000 votes cast).
Mulgrew took the award for Favorite Solo Performance, an achievement made all the more noteworthy because the category, unlike most awards, is not split by gender, meaning her turn as Katherine Hepburn stood out amongst both male and female solo performances.
"Tea at Five" was written by Matthew Lombardo and directed by John Tillinger. For more information on the show and its history, check out the related News stories and the "Tea at Five" site via the links below.
