Star Trek allegory. "
Stigma" explores the potentially fatal Vulcan malady known as Pa'nar Syndrome, and the ways in which those afflicted with it are ostracized from Vulcan society. The parallels between Pa'nar Syndrome and HIV/AIDS are no accident "Stigma" is one of several special HIV/AIDS themed episodes of Paramount TV shows airing these next two months. This series of special episodes is part of Viacom's multi-year global media campaign to raise awareness and combat HIV/AIDS.

When Nikki's wildly spontaneous friend from high school returns to town to participate in the annual AIDS WALK, she drags Nikki to a rave party in San Diego which results in Nikki's arrest.
