The December issue of
Premiere boasts a bounty of special treats for
Star Trek fans.
Patrick Stewart (
Jean-Luc Picard) sits down for a Q&A regarding the upcoming "Star Trek Nemesis," his work as Professor Xavier in "X-Men 2" and fandom in general. In the article, Stewart waxes enthusiastic about the highly-anticipated
Trek sequel, noting that he even ad-libbed at least one choice moment. "Working on the TV series, I used to say, 'Mr. Data shut up!' and it would never get in. But there it is in the movie," he says. "Afterward I say, 'I've been waiting 15 years to say that.' It's sort of an in-joke because it is true." Stewart also confirms Bryan Singer's cameo in the film, revealing that the "X-Men" director plays an ensign on the bridge.
The issue also features a guide to the Trek movies on DVD ("The Wrath of Khan" and "First Contact" rate the highest) and a sidebar detailing the look of the Remans and their ships. "I wanted the Reman ship, the Scimitar, [to have] this German Expressionist feel very shadowy and contrasty," notes director Stuart Baird.
The December issue of Premiere, which features Owen Wilson on the cover, is on newsstands now.
