Displaying the nimble ability to leap from the far future to the distant past, John Logan, screenwriter of the upcoming "Star Trek Nemesis," has been tapped by DreamWorks and Universal Pictures to write a sequel to the Oscar-winning epic "Gladiator."
As part of the Academy Award-nominated team that wrote the script for "Gladiator" (with David Franzoni and William Nicholson), the ancient Roman landscape is as familiar to Logan as the 24th Century of "Nemesis."
Details of the sequel's plot are so far undisclosed, but rumors reported in the Hollywood Reporter point towards events of "Gladiator 2" taking place 15 years after the end of the first film.
