Members of Star Trek's long list of alums make appearances almost daily in films and television. The following information is subject to change, so be sure to check your local listings for channels and airtimes, and for theaters and showtimes.
In Movie Theaters This Weekend
When you're ready to take a break from viewing the new DVD of the second Star Trek movie (see related story), be sure to check out Ricardo Montalban in the second "Spy Kids" movie.
"Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams" features Montalban ("Khan" in "Space Seed" and "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan") as the grandfather of the title characters and a veteran spy himself. Montalban has spoken about his experiences on the Robert Rodriguez film at recent Star Trek convention appearances; some of those comments can be found in this report.
The Clint Eastwood film "Blood Work" features two Star Trek alumni. Tina Lifford, one of the hostages in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's "Past Tense, Part I" and "Part II," plays "Detective Jaye Winston" in the crime thriller. Beverly Leech, "Dayla" in Star Trek: Voyager's "Nightingale," plays "Juliette Loveland" (Leech also provided a voice in the "Star Trek: Away Team" video game).
"The Good Girl" starring Jennifer Aniston features John Carroll Lynch, who played "Gerald Moss" in Star Trek: Voyager's "11:59." He is "Jack Field" in the movie.
Coming Up on Television
If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to catch Terry Farrell in "Crossing the Line" Sunday afternoon, the 11th, on the Lifetime Channel (check your local listings for airtime). In the made-for-cable movie, Farrell ("Jadzia Dax" in ST:DS9) plays a high-school girls' basketball coach who battles the winning-is-everything attitude of her team members and their families.
On the talk-show circuit, Steven Weber ("Colonel Day" in DS9's "The Siege") will join "Regis & Kelly" Monday, the 12th, promoting his appearance on Broadway in "The Producers." On Tuesday, "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" will rerun a segment featuring Jeri Ryan ("Seven of Nine" on Voyager).
