In Movie Theaters This Week
The science-fiction film "Clockstoppers" is helmed by a very familiar face- Jonathan Frakes ("William T. Riker"). Frakes has also directed the last two Star Trek films, "Star Trek: First Contact" and "Star Trek: Insurrection," and will reprise his role as Riker in the next film, "Star Trek: Nemesis." Rob Hedden is credited among the writers for story on "Clockstoppers," although he sat in the director's chair for the Enterprise episode "Fusion." And finally, "Clockstoppers" cast member Jeff Rickets has appeared twice on Enterprise, playing the Axanari Captain in the episode "Fight or Flight" and Keval in "The Andorian Incident."
The baseball film "The Rookie" features Raynor Scheine, who played Esoqq (as Reiner Schone) in the TNG episode "Allegiance."
The dark comedy "Death to Smoochy" features veteran character actor Vincent Schiavelli, who played the Minosian Peddler in the TNG episode: "The Arsenal of Freedom."
