Two More Oscars® in Star Trek Family
Two alumni of Star Trek feature films brought home gold Sunday night at the 74th Annual Academy Awards® in Hollywood hosted by Whoopi Goldberg.
George Watters II was one of two recipients of the Sound Editing award for "Pearl Harbor." Watters was a sound editor on four Star Trek movies. This is his second Oscar out of six nominations.
Jim Rygiel was one of four winners in the Visual Effects category for "Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring." Rygiel was visual effects supervisor for "Star Trek: Insurrection." This was his first Academy Award nomination.
