For the third year in a row, the galaxy's sexiest Dabo girl served as queen of the Sexiest Geek Alive pageant held Tuesday, March 12, in Austin, Texas. Chase Masterson ("Leeta" in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) hosted the finals of the annual competition which "gathers geeks from around the country to celebrate their emerging coolness," a press release stated.

Chad Briggs, a streaming video post-production supervisor from Dallas, accepted the crown from Masterson as 2002's Sexiest Geek Alive, emerging from more than 12,000 applicants and eight finalists. As winner, he will receive a state-of-the-art personal computer as well as a "geek cruise" sponsored by GeekCruises.com.

"The Sexy Geek contest is hot," Masterson said of the competition held in conjunction with the South by Southwest Interactive Trade Show. "It's got it all — brains, more brains and sex appeal!"
