Patrick Stewart ("
Jean-Luc Picard") could book his Decembers for life if he wanted. His one-man version of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" returns again this season for several performances in California and a week of shows in New York City with charity benefiting from every performance.
Stewart will perform his acclaimed solo production in Los Angeles on Saturday, December 15th at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 16th at 3:00 p.m. at the Luckman Fine Arts Complex at Cal State Los Angeles. Stewart then heads to New York City where he will perform the show at the Marquis Theater from December 24-30.
Tickets for the Los Angeles performance are on sale now via Ticketmaster or the Luckman Box Office at (323) 343-6600, and with such a limited performance run, the shows will sell out if they haven't already. For this year's New York run, tickets go on sale at the box office December 10 or via Ticketmaster.
All proceeds from the New York performance on December 28 will go to the September 11 Campaign of the Actors' Fund of America, while the proceeds from the other seven New York performances will be divided between the Coalition for the Homeless and Food for Survival Inc.
The performance earned Stewart a 1991 Drama Desk Award for Best Solo Performance and in London he received an Olivier Award for Best Entertainment.
Another Star Trek Captain set for a solo show is Kate Mulgrew ("Kathryn Janeway") who will portray silver screen legend Katherine Hepburn at the Hartford Stage in the play "Tea at Five," beginning in February.
The play, written by Matthew Lombardo, follows Hepburn as she reflects on her life and adventures as well as her romance with Spencer Tracy and is Mulgrew's Hartford Stage debut, running February 7 through March 10, 2002.
