Dispatch: Stunt Performer Bob Bass Passes Away

Veteran Original Series stunt performer Bob Bass passed away last week at age 65, suffering from Parkinson's Disease.

Bass appeared on Star Trek in the Original Series episodes "Mirror, Mirror," "I, Mudd," "This Side of Paradise," "Space Seed," "Errand of Mercy" and "The City on the Edge of Forever."

Bass also worked on the films "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," "Scarface," "Thelma & Louise" and "Lethal Weapon."

On television, Bass' credits include The Twilight Zone, Mission Impossible, The A-Team, Fantasy Island and McGyver.

Bass also worked as a stunt coordinator, assistant director and second unit director on various projects, and also trained many famous actors in martial arts, including Mel Gibson, Geena Davis, Susan Sarandon, Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, Burt Reynolds and Danny Glover.
