Members of Star Trek's long list of alums make appearances almost daily in films and television. The following listings are subject to change, be sure to check your local movie listings for theaters and showtimes, and local television listings for airtimes.

Opening in Theaters This Week

The drama "Life as a House" features the latest Star Trek Captain, Scott Bakula (Jonathan Archer on Enterprise). Also appearing in the film is Sandra Nelson, who played Tavana in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Soldiers of the Empire."

The Kevin Spacey film "K-PAX" features Alfre Woodard, who portrayed Lily Sloane in "Star Trek: First Contact" and Frank Collison, who played Gul Dolak in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Ensign Ro."

The comedy "Van Wilder: Party Liaison" features three-time Star Trek alum Megan Gallagher. Gallagher played Mareel in the DS9 episode "Invasive Procedures," Nurse Garland in the DS9 episode "Little Green Men" and Lt. Jeren in the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Body and Soul."

Just in time for Halloween, the horror film "13 Ghosts" features F. Murray Abraham, familiar to Star Trek fans as the villainous Ru'afo in "Star Trek: Insurrection."

On Television This Week

Joining host Bill Maher this week on Politically Incorrect are guests and Star Trek alums Jason Alexander (Kurros in the Voyager episode "Think Tank") and Malcolm McDowell (Dr. Tolian Soran in "Star Trek Generations"). Alexander will appear this Tuesday, October 23, and McDowell is scheduled to appear on Thursday, October 25.

Joining center square Whoopi Goldberg ("Guinan") on Hollywood Squares all week is DS9 veteran and current star of Becker Terry Farrell ("Jadzia Dax").

One of the highlights of the TV week will be William Shatner's appearance on the ABC comedy Bob Patterson. Airing Wednesday, October 24 at 9:30 p.m., Bob Patterson stars, of course, Jason Alexander (see above).
