The Nenebek was a mining shuttle, sent from Pentarus V, to convey Captain Picard and Ensign Crusher to mediate a labor dispute on the planet.

On the way, the shuttle malfunctioned, forcing them to crash land on one of Pentarus III's moons, Lambda Paz.
