This long-range, streamlined, Starfleet shuttle was used by Data, while surveying the Ba'ku planet. During an accident, which caused Data's ethical sub-routines to become crosswired, Data used the scout ship to attack the Son'a flagship in orbit of the planet.

Captain Picard and Worf were forced to bring Data and the scout ship down by docking with the vessel and later subduing its android pilot.
