Perhaps the most notorious of Dr. Phlox's menagerie of medically useful creatures is this species specimen, a female; its fluttery, chaotic escape once helped him distract and defeat a Triannon hijacker. The doctor has a particular affinity for the bat, and even admits to talking to her on occasion. She will not eat anything already dead; snow beetles and a certain moth larvae are among the items Phlox maintains as a constant supply of live creatures for her.
