Canopus III is a desert-like Class-M planet. When Captain Kirk and his landing party are on Lactra VII in 2270 (stardate: 5501.2), they remark that some of the landscape — and the immense gray dinosaur-like monster that attacked them — are remarkably similar to the land and beasts of Canopus III.
