A distant solar system containing at least two planets. The system's second planet superficially appears to be Class-M — habitable by humans and most humanoids — but which cannot sustain humanoid over the long term. The planet's environment drains away the life-energies of most humanoid species over time, a fact not known to a group of refugees from another dying world when they settled here centuries ago. By the 23rd century, only the females of this humanoid race had survived, remaining alive by luring humanoid males to their world every 27.346 years in order to drain and consume their life energies. These women ceased this vampiric practice on stardate 5483.9 (2269), after an encounter with the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise convinced them to accept relocation to a less inimical planet instead.
