In 2266, Tomlinson served aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise's as the ship's phaser-control officer. Kirk was in the act of marrying Tomlinson and Angela Martine until a red alert regarding an encounter with the Romulans interrupted the nuptials. Tomlinson died in the subsequent battle.
